- Company Intro:
- The Sino-US Friendship House is home in Muscatine, Iowa that is being turned into a museum to be a symbol of the unique relationship between the city of Muscatine and China. In the 80s, future Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Muscatine on an agricultural exchange trip and stayed with a family in the house. During the trip he made life-long friends (whom he calls his "Old Friends"). He visited Muscatine again in 2012 as Vice-President. Muscatine currently hosts 10-20 Chinese delegations per year, many of high levels such as the Governor of Hebei and sends 50-75 students to China on exchange trips per year. The overall mission of the house and organization is to promote person-to-person diplomacy and move the relationship between Muscatine and China into the modern era. The target audience would definitely lean to the Chinese governmental delegates as well as Chinese business leaders. The website under development will have both an English and Chinese version.

- The logo needs to convey the significance and importance of the house. Because of its outsized role in the relationship, it needs to embody strength, respect and longevity. One option would be a balance of Chinese and American symbols focusing on friendship. Another would be using a stylized version of the outside of the house. Potentially both (although that would be a very busy logo :) ). PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE LOGO DOES NOT LOOK LIKE IT COULD BE FOR A REALTOR, CONTRACTOR OR SIMILAR. We're open on color, but it should probably find a way to balance the red/yellow of the Chinese culture and the red/white/blue of the American culture. We need to be careful with balancing the two cultures. While the Chinese delegates are the general target audience, we do not want the house/logo to look or feel like it is only representing the Chinese side of the friendship.
