- Logo Name:
- Discover Muscatine
- Company Intro:
- Discover Muscatine is a multi-platform local news and information organization. Content types: local news stories and pictures, local video content including morning shows and sports on our cable channel/website, tourism/destination information, community calendar, and community directory. Think newspaper plus TV channel plus Chamber of Commerce plus Visitors Bureau. The target audience is twofold. One is Muscatine locals for the news and events, day trippers are the target for the visitor information. Tag line: Pearl of the Midwest
- Instructions:
- Something fun, exciting and engaging. The color palate we're currently using for our new designs is attached. This should drive the logo. Things to potentially include: * Stylized Norbert F Beckey Bridge (used in our current logo) * The Mississippi River bend at Muscatine (see attached map section) * The shape of Muscatine County (see attached - red dotted lines plus the river make up the boundaries of the county) * Use a river for the S in Discover and Muscatine * Use a forward leaning handwriting/script font with combined with a more block font * Possibly incorporate the pearl from the Pearl City Media logo One of the websites we are using as a benchmark is https://www.catchdesmoines.com/. Our current website/logo is at discovermuscatine.com (it's old, but you'll get the idea. Other logos we kind of like: https://www.doorcounty.com/ (Destination Door County) https://northlittlerock.org/ https://www.visitchicagonorthshore.com/
Reference Samples:
- CFor clarification after seeing some of the first designs: If a design emphasizes one word over the other, Muscatine should be the one emphasized/most prominent. At least one of the possible elements should be included to connect the logo to the city of Muscatine. The logo should be unique to the community. Preference would be the river and/or the bridge. Do not reuse the fonts or style of the current logo. It should be a complete refresh.
