I would like an elegant hourglass at the base of which is a young girl, possibly holding a book or a pen, maybe she's even drawing what she sees. She should be looking up into the top of the hourglass where a city is made out of the aurora lights. Think His Dark Materials but with a minimalist take. 

Additionally, my preferred colors are dark blue, black, and a tinge of gold for the dust. The text should only be written outside the hourglass or encircling it. I don't want it to detract from the beauty of the image.

I chose Koushik's design because it was what I didn't know I wanted. But, it still satisfied my requirements while taking an abstract approach. Speculative fiction isn't just about cool dragons or advanced technology. If you look closer, there are deeper meanings embedded in the stories. I like artists who can incorporate their own vision into what's being asked of them.
